Hello all!
My name is Nicole, I am 36 years old and I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I work in Early Childhood Education. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2007 with my B.S. in Education Foundations. I graduated from Portland State University in 2018 with my Maters in Early Childhood Education: Inclusive Education and Curriculum & Instruction and a Graduate Certificate in Infant Toddler Mental Health. I have three cats (who may make appearances here every so often); Cullen Edward, Kadence Isabella and Kendrix James. Why a book blog? I have been wanting to do a blog about books for a while but between a full time job and full time grad school that didn't leave much time for reading. Well, I'm done with grad school and am getting back into my love of reading, as I call it, for fun."reading for fun". So I thought why not give it a shot. Books, Books and more Books! I have loved reading my whole life (see the photo of me around age 2 with a book). My Gramma was a huge influence in my reading (and still is she is always adding to my book collection), my need to learn to read started because I wanted to be able to read my Dad's Sports Illustrated on my own and since the day I started asking to learn my family has never stopped me (other than refusing to move my book collection ever again). I rarely ever leave the house with out a book, I have gone to a bar and taken out a book to read. What to expect:
My favorite genres in Fiction include: Mystery & Thrillers, Psychological Thrillers, True Crime, Historical Fiction, Young Adult/Teen, Children's literature. I also enjoy the following non-fiction genres: Autobiography/Biography, Education/Parenting/Child Development, Self-Help, True Crime and history. Depending on the book (and what is happening in life) it can take me a week to two weeks to complete a book. I wish all I had to do was read but alas, I have three fur children to feed.
